Shin Splints
What are shin splints?
“Shin splints” is a term used to describe pain along the outside or inside border of the shin bone that typically increases with repetitive activity. The most common cause of this sensation is periostitis, which occurs when the muscles that attach to the shin bone are overworked or strained. Periostitis can be caused by the anatomical structure of the legs, weak or tight muscles, changes in exercise routines, poor footwear, and overuse.
Common Symptoms
