Flexion-Distraction/Cox Technic®
The Cox® Technic is a form of hands-on spinal manipulation performed on a specialized chiropractic table. This technique is based on the theory of flexion distraction, whereby a trained clinician places specific pressure on the spine while gently stretching the back in various positions. Flexion-distraction manipulation has been shown to be an effective treatment intervention for spinal disc and joint pathologies.
