Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation is a drug free approach for treatment of vertigo and dizziness. Our physiotherapists, who have received additional training in this specialized area of practice, can perform techniques and prescribe exercises to alleviate the symptoms.
One of the most common vestibular issues that patients experience is vertigo. Vertigo is typically described as dizziness or the sensation of spinning in any direction. A frequent cause of vertigo is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), which is caused by a dysfunction of the balance organs found in the inner ear.
Repositioning procedures used to treat BPPV provide fast and long-lasting relief of vertigo within the first few treatment sessions. This treatment protocol may be paired with vestibular rehabilitation exercises and/or falls prevention training.
