Dr. Maxwell Woods graduated summa cum laude from New York Chiropractic College in 2006. Prior to his graduate studies, he obtained his Honours Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Queen’s University in 2002. He utilizes the most advanced treatment and technique systems available to get patients back on the road to optimal health. He specializes in Diversified Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy, Thompson Technique, Flexion-Distraction (Cox Technique), Graston Technique and is a Master’s Provider of Active Release Techniques (ART) with certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, a revolutionary diagnostic and treatment system used to detect, treat and resolve a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions, from head to toe. Additionally, he obtained his Contemporary Medical Acupuncture certification from McMaster University in 2009. He holds dual licensure in Canada and the USA and serves as an examiner for the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board.
Dr. Max has been practicing at Huronia Physiotherapy and Chiropractic since 2009, returning to his hometown after relocating from Barrie, Ontario. He strives for optimal patient outcomes using an evidence-based approach to chiropractic care, and he enjoys practicing within an integrated healthcare model, working with other healthcare practitioners whenever possible. Special emphasis is placed on injury prevention, treatment and management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. He sees patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, and assists patients in all stages and phases of care. In addition to chiropractic care, he offers acupuncture therapy, nutritional guidance, exercise and strengthening programs, custom made and prefabricated orthotics, and lifestyle recommendations.
In his free time, he enjoys boating, skiing, travelling, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with his wife, Kelly.
